THE ELEVATOR PITCH

What Is an Elevator Pitch?

An elevator pitch is a very short presentation of 1 to 2 minutes maximum that clearly explains a problem, the proposed solution, the target, and the value provided. It is essential for quickly capturing attention and making people want to learn more or continue the discussion  (Alan, Group 6).

In an elevator pitch, speak clearly and slowly so people can understand you, keep it calm. Next, use simple words and short sentences. Try to explain your idea in a clear way and say why it is important. In addition, try to sound confident and friendly. Finally, practice your pitch many times (Nico and Blaco, Group 2).

In an elevator pitch, first you introduce yourself and say who you are. Then, you explain what you do and why it is useful or important. After that, you mention what makes you different from others. Finally, you finish with a call to action, like asking to talk more or suggesting the next step (Group 8: Nel and Adrià).

Key Parts of a Good Elevator Pitch

To create a strong elevator pitch, you should include several important elements:

1. Attention-Grabbing Start

Begin with something that gets the listener interested right away — a surprising fact, an intriguing question, or a bold statement.

2. Introduction

Say who you are and what your project or company does.

3. Problem You Solve

Briefly explain the problem or need your idea addresses.

4. Unique  Value Proposition

Describe your solution and what makes it valuable or different.

5. Team

Introduce your team

6. Call to Action

End with what you want the listener to do next — for example, schedule a meeting, ask for feedback, or give support.
